Description
Description
If you like to take on rough off-road tracks, the Shimano XC502 W MTB shoes are the right choice for you.
Technology
Comfortable fit and easy to adjustThe upper part of the Shimano XC502 W is Features Shimano's Surround Wrapping, which means that the foot is wrapped in one seamless piece of leather. This creates a better fit with fewer gaps between the shoe and foot. Thanks to the BOA L6 dial closure and velcro closure, you can adjust the fit perfectly. With a simple turn of the dial you can tighten this MTB shoe, even while you're on your moutain bike.
Upper part made of synthetic leather and mesh
The upper part of the Shimano XC502 W MTB shoes is made of synthetic leather and mesh. This combination of material makes these MTB shoes very comfortable and lightweight. The mesh material on the upper part of the shoe also improves breathability. In turn, this prevents your feet from overheating.
Reinforced mid-sole and outer sole with great grip
The mid-sole of the Shimano XC502 W is fibreglass reinforced, which provides greater stiffness (stifness index: 7). As a result, power is transferred to the pedals better, and your efforts on the MTB are transformed into speed more effectively. Moreover, your feet will feel nice and stable in these cycling shoes, which also maximises efficient power transfer. The lightweight ULTREAD rubber outer sole offers long-lasting and competition-worthy grip.

Detailed explanation of sizing in mmIn order to help you choose the right size shoe we have measured all the shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size per brand suits you best. Does your foot length in mm not appear on the relevant product page? Then that particular shoe is not available in a size that suits your foot length.
You can easily measure your foot length by placing an A4 sheet of paper on the floor, against a wall. Place your foot onto the paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now repeat the process for the other foot, and use the measurement of the larger foot. Measure the length of your longest foot, and that's it, your foot length in mm! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system. As such, when you order a pair, the shoe size stated on the shoe box may differ from the size established using our measurements.
The shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because each brand uses their own last, which may run larger or smaller. In addition, we divided all shoes into the following categories: narrow, average or wide. Read more about it on our blog!

Great shoe
Very nice shoe, fits nicely, good feel on the pedals. Closes nicely around the foot.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Fantastic shoes forden very acceptable price tag.
This shoe is nice and light and because the boa gives the same closing force over the entire length, you don't feel pressure points anywhere. The profile under heel is wide and feels very stable if you have to walk or scramble for a bit. I have done climbs longer than 70 minutes and did not get sore feet. The "W" version which stands for wide is actually perfect for a normal Dutch foot. I only have a 42 shoe size but at Shimano you can easily add 2 sizes.

Design and comfort
Beautifully designed mtb shoes, very comfortable and with an insole that adapts very well.

Great shoe
They are solid, sturdy shoes and you can use the sluity system to tighten the shoe just the way you like it. Too bad that the shoe does let a lot of air through and gives cold feet quickly in wet weather. Also with normal walking you can hear that the click system damages.

Joy I cycle safely and quickly and love them!
Super comfortable and I get a great grip on the bike. Feels like a good sole, a little softer underneath.
